Man allegedly stabbed at Rajivnagar

November 28, 2025

Mysore/Mysuru: A day after a youth was stabbed to death in Udayagiri Police limits on Wednesday morning, a man was allegedly stabbed in Mysuru South Police limits yesterday.

The incident took place in front of Premium Service Apartment, close to Rajivnagar Outer-Ring Road (ORR) last night. The injured has been identified as 35-year-old Sabeer, who is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

It is learnt that a few youths were fighting in front of the apartment and Sabeer went near them to enquire, during which he was reportedly stabbed by unidentified persons, who fled from the spot soon after, according to the statement given by Sabeer to the Police.

As hundreds of people had assembled in front of the hospital, traffic was disrupted for sometime till Police arrived and dispersed the crowd.

Sources in the hospital said that injured Sabeer is out of danger.

Public angry

Meanwhile, the angry public said that sale and consumption of narcotic substances is rampant in Udayagiri and Rajivnagar, which was resulting in such incidents.

The public also complained that post dusk, menace of those under the influence of liquor increases at Shanthinagar, Ghousianagar, Azeez Sait Double Road and parts of Ring Road. A few shops in these areas are open throughout the night which has become a den for these drunkards. The Police, despite knowing all this, have not bothered to take action, they alleged.

Anti-Rowdy Squad toothless

City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar has re-launched the Anti-Rowdy Squad by deploying Police personnel from City Crime Branch and personnel from various Police Stations across the city, to control anti-social elements, but still such incidents are taking place undeterred. This only shows the inefficiency of the Police, public alleged and added that though the Police have been conducting raids and seizing narcotic substances in every Police Station limits, no such raids were conducted in this region.
