Mysore/Mysuru: A man, suspecting his wife’s infidelity, stabbed her on her neck before fleeing from the spot. The incident took place in Metagalli Police Limits in city recently.

The woman, who sustained serious injuries and admitted to K.R. Hospital, is Suma. The accused husband is Krishna, who has gone absconding.

Krishna and Suma’s was a love marriage and the couple have two children. Krishna, who is said to have been addicted to liquor, used to frequently suspect his wife having illicit relationship.

Last year, Krishna, who picked up a fight with Suma for the same reason, had assaulted her with a machete and was jailed. After coming out of the prison on bail, Krishna began to fight with Suma and depressed over this, Suma left her husband’s house and began to stay in her parents’ house. It is learnt that Krishna used to go there too and pester Suma to come to his house.

In the meantime, Suma took up a job at a private company to earn her livelihood. When Suma was returning home after work recently, Krishna, who allegedly attacked her with a knife, stabbed Suma on the neck causing serious injuries. Suma was rushed to K.R. Hospital where she is undergoing treatment. Based on the complaint from Suma’s mother, Metagalli Police, who have registered a case, are investigating and have launched a hunt to nab Krishna, who is absconding.
