Man arrested for storing deer meat

Hunsur: The Forest Department sleuths have arrested a man on charges of storing deer meat in his house.

The accused has been identified as Ramegowda, a resident of Rajegowdanahundi village, coming under Veeranahosahalli Range in Nagarahole National Park. The Forest officials have seized the deer meat from the house.

Acting on a tip off, Veeranahosahalli Range Forest Officer (RFO) Vinod Gowda and staff raided Ramegowda’s house on Tuesday night and seized the deer meat besides arresting the accused. Another accused identified as Manu has gone absconding and efforts are being made to trace him.

Deputy RFO Ravikumar and staff Girigowda, Venkatesh and Shilpa took part in the nabbing and seizing operation.
