November 15, 2019

Mysuru: A man alleging that he has been cheated of Rs. 30 lakh by one Lokesh Mourya, has lodged a complaint at Vidyaranyapuram Police Station in city.

The victim is S. Mahesh, who was the JD(S) ticket aspirant from T. Narasipur in the last Assembly election, while the accused Lokesh Mourya, who had identified himself as a social worker at Hanur Constituency in Chamarajanagar, was indulging in distribution of note books and other social works.

Lokesh, who used to tell that he was the JD(S) ticket aspirant from Hanur Constituency, used to conduct many social works and was also a friend of Mahesh. Both of them did not get tickets to contest the polls.

Sometime back, Lokesh, who came to Mahesh, told him that his house has been raided by Income Tax (I-T) officials, who  have seized money worth crores of rupees, showed Mahesh a few photographs containing trunks besides showing Mahesh a few documents and telling him that he has to get back the seized money.

Lokesh then got more than Rs. 30 lakh transferred to the bank accounts of him and one Surekha from  Mahesh’s account.

After a few days, Mahesh, who came to know that no raids took place in the house of Lokesh, went to him and asked him to return his money during which Lokesh, Surekha and Prema allegedly threatened him with life, following which Mahesh lodged a complaint with Vidyaranyapuram Police.
