Madikeri:  Two days  after a woman died of a tree fall in Virajpet taluk, a man died as a tree fell on him at Maldare village in Virajpet taluk early this morning.

Ponnachanda Vishnu Belliappa (64), a resident of Maldare is the deceased.

Belliappa stepped out of his  house this morning, when the huge Mango tree in front of the house got uprooted and fell on him, resulting in serious head injuries. He was rushed to Siddapura Community Health Centre, where he breathed his last after some time, failing to respond to treatment, it is learnt. The Siddapura Police and officials from the Gram Panchayat, Revenue and Forest Departments visited the spot.
