Man falls off from bus, dies

Mysuru:  In a tragic incident, a 30-year-old married man died after falling off from a moving bus near Varuna in the taluk.

The deceased has been identified as Chikkanna of Bhugathahalli in the taluk. Chikkanna, who has a 2-year-old son, had been to his father-in-law’s house at Dandikere a couple of days ago.

He boarded a private bus at Dandikere yesterday evening to return to his village, when Chikkanna, who was standing near the door holding his son, was thrown off from the bus when the bus was negotiating a sharp curve near Varuna.

As a result, Chikkanna, who sustained serious injuries, was admitted to the city’s JSS Hospital, while his son escaped with minor injuries. But Chikkanna succumbed to injuries at the hospital in the early hours of today.

The Police have seized the bus. Varuna Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
