Man fined Rs. 27,000 for letting minor son ride bike

Mysuru: A City Court has penalised a man for letting his minor son side a motorcycle without a Driving Licence (DL) and not wearing a helmet during the ride.
The Nanjangud Traffic Police were checking vehicles near Neelakantanagar Society at Nanjangud on Nov. 23, 2025, when they intercepted a bike rider who was not wearing a helmet.
Upon verification, it was found that the rider was a 17-year-old minor without a valid DL and was riding with a pillion, with both of them not wearing helmet.
The Police subsequently registered a case against the minor boy’s father Kemparaju for letting his minor son ride the bike without DL.
The Second Additional CJ & JMFC Court of the city, which heard the case on Sept. 29, held Kemparaju guilty of the charges and penalised him Rs. 27,000 for letting his minor son ride a bike without a DL besides risking his life and other motorists.
