10 cell phones worth about Rs. 70,000 recovered
Mysuru: Lashkar Police, following a complaint from a woman about her mobile phone being robbed while she was boarding a city bus on Mar. 8, conducted an operation on Mar. 13 on K.T. Street and have arrested the accused.
The accused is 25-year-old Manju, a native of Lanke village, Hampapura hobli in H.D. Kote taluk, who was residing at Cauvery Nagar, Belavatha in city.
During interrogation, the accused is said to have told the Police that he had stolen mobile phones from passengers who were sleeping at Bus Stand and Railway Station during night and based on the information provided by the accused, the Cops have recovered 10 phones worth about Rs. 70,000 from him.
DCP M. Mutthuraju and Devaraja Sub-Division ACP Gajendra Prasad supervised Lashkar Inspector N. Muniyappa, SI Pooja, ASI N. Mahadevappa and staff Parashivamurthy, Lokesh, Pradeep, Pratheep and Manjunath took part in the nabbing and recovery operation.
