Man jailed for robbing customers in the guise of providing massage

Mysore/Mysuru: A City Court has sentenced a man to three years simple imprisonment and has imposed a fine of Rs. 1,000 after he was found guilty of robbing customers in the guise of providing massage.

The convict has been identified as K.P. Sumesh, who used to identify himself as Dharmaraj. He used to book a room at a lodge in Lashkar Mohalla, bring customers who wanted a massage, make them unconscious and was robbing their valuables.

Lashkar Sub-Inspector Pooja S. Hattaraki, who had registered a case, conducted an investigation and had submitted a charge-sheet to the Court.

Third Addl. District & Sessions Court Judge Jerald Rudolph Mendonca, who heard the arguments from both sides, found the accused guilty of the crime and sentenced him. Public Prosecutor Vasanthi M. Angadi argued on behalf of the Government.
