Mandya: A man allegedly beat his wife to death after a fight broke out between them over a trivial issue at Belagola village in Srirangapatna taluk near KRS this morning.

The deceased has been identified as Priyanka (21) and the accused is Kiran (26). Kiran hailed from Udayagiri and Priyanka was from Yeraganahalli near Mysuru. From different castes, they fell in love and got married last year.

As their families opposed the marriage, they were living separately in a rented house near Belagola. A fight broke out between them last night over a trivial issue. Police said that after marriage, both husband and wife were suspecting each other of having an extra-marital affair.

As arguments broke out between them yesterday, Kiran allegedly hit Priyanka hard and she died. The KRS Police have arrested Kiran.
