Man sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for raping minor girl

Mysuru: A City Court has sentenced a 45-year-old man to 10 years imprisonment besides imposing a penalty of Rs. 10,000 on him for raping a minor girl.

Munir, a resident of 11th Cross, Raghavendranagar, is the one who has been sentenced. Munir was booked by the Nazarbad Police under POCSO Act, for raping a minor girl in 2016. The Nazarbad Police, after collecting all evidences, had submitted the charge-sheet against Munir in the Court.

The 6th ADJ Court, which heard the case, convicted Munir and sentenced him to 10 years imprisonment. Public Prosecutor Shivarudraswamy argued on behalf of the State.

City Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subrahmanyeswara Rao has complimented the Nazarbad Police led by Inspector M.L.Shekar for thorough investigation and conviction of the accused.
