Man sentenced for selling ganja near school

Mysuru: Principal District and Sessions Court Judge P.J.M. Patil, has sentenced a person to three months imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 2,500 for selling ganja near a school.

The convict has been identified as Syed Nayaz alias Nayaz alias Riyaz Pasha, a resident of Sathyanagar in Udayagiri here.

The convict, on Apr. 27, 2012, was found selling ganja near JSS Public School in JP Nagar, when the then Vidyaranyapuram Police Inspector Harish Kumar raided the spot and arrested the convict and had seized 700 grams of ganja from him.

After registering a case, a charge sheet was submitted to the Court.   The Judge, who heard the arguments, pronounced the above judgement. Public Prosecutor H.E. Chinnappa argued for the Government.
