Man stabbed to death

A 33-year-old man was stabbed to death by unidentified assailants at Raghavendranagar late yesterday night.

The deceased has been identified as Shunesh Kumar, a resident of Rammanahalli in Mysuru taluk. Police said that Shunesh, a painter by profession, was staying at his father’s residence in Raghavendranagar from the last one month to look after his ailing father.

Yesterday, while he was returning home from city, a few unidentified persons attacked him near Dr. Rajkumar Road and stabbed him in his stomach using lethal weapons. Passers-by who noticed Shunesh lying in a pool of blood identified him and informed his younger brother Swamy.

Udayagiri Police Inspector P. P. Santosh and staff conducted mahazar and  shifted the body to MMC&RI for post-mortem. The Police said that the incident may have occurred between 10.45 and 11.15 pm and suspected old enmity behind the murder. Devaraja ACP Rajashekar, fingerprint ACP Rajashekar, SI Appaji Gowda and others visited the spot.
