Man takes car on trial round, flees away with vehicle

October 23, 2018

Mysuru: A man, who took a car for a trial round after leaving his Royal Enfield bike with the car owner, has reportedly fled with the car and the car owner after waiting for five days has handed over the bike to N.R. Police besides lodging a complaint.

The man, who lost his car, is Mehboob Khan of N.R. Mohalla, while the person who fled with the car has been identified as Arjun. Khan, who owned a Skoda Octavia car (KA-01 D-1227), wanted to sell the car and had advertised on a online platform about 15 days back.

Meanwhile, one Arjun, who too wanted to sell his Royal Enfield bike (KA-13 ED-0045) had also advertised in the same online portal. Arjun, who saw Khan’s advertisement, contacted him on Oct.10 and both of them had reportedly agreed to exchange their vehicles.

On the same day afternoon, Arjun met Khan at his (Khan) relative’s house in R.S. Naidu Nagar and asked Khan to take his Enfield bike for a trial round and told Khan that he was taking the car for a trial round too.

Khan, who took the bike for trials on the Ring Road, came after a few minutes and began to wait for Arjun to bring back the car near Naidu Nagar Bus Stand. Though half-an-hour had passed there was no sign of Arjun. Khan made a call to Arjun’s mobile phone only to receive the message that the phone was switched off.

Despite knowing that he has been cheated, Khan waited for five days and later handed over the Royal Enfield bike which was with him to N.R. Police and lodged a complaint.

N.R. Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
