Mandya:  Mandya CMC (City Municipal Council) President H.C. Boregowda (52) died in sleep due to a massive cardiac arrest at his residence here early this morning.

Boregowda, a resident of 4th Cross, Hosahalli Extension in Mandya, leaves behind his wife Pavithra, daughter Harshitha, son Jeevan and a host of relatives and friends.

Boregowda, who went to bed at about 10 pm last night, did not wake up even after 7am. His parents, who were in the house tried to wake him up, when he was found dead in sleep, it is learnt.

His family members had left for Hyderabad only yesterday morning on a tour.

Boregowda, whose tenure as Mandya CMC President was to end in a couple of months, was a three time Councillor, having got elected from Ward Nos. 16 and 17. He had also served as a PLD Bank Director earlier.
