Mangala Eregowda (80), father of Mangala M.E. Shivanna, a teacher and a writer, passed away yesterday morning in the town.

He leaves behind his wife Chowdamma, sons M.E. Shivanna (PES High School teacher) and M.E. Shankar (former President of Mangala Primary Credit Co-operative Society), daughter M.E. Bhagyamma (Vice-President of Srirangapatna Taluk Peehalli Village Milk Producers Co-operative Society) and a host of relatives and friends. Last rites were performed at Mangala village yesterday afternoon.
