March 20, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: Manipal Hospital, Mysuru, hosted a first-of-its-kind event, ‘Manipal Sakhi Connect ‘ on Mar.17 at a private hotel in city.

This event marked a significant milestone in fostering women’s empowerment, camaraderie, and health awareness within the community.

Rashmi Koti, Managing Editor of Andolana, who was the chief guest, spoke about encouraging women’s empowerment through columns in the publication and giving space to female writers.

Emphasising the strength and resilience of women, she said, “Women have the power to accomplish whatever they want. Manipal Sakhi Connect is an excellent platform for women to establish strong connections and explore new dimensions.”

The event was attended by 120 participants, including guests and dignitaries, coming in support of Women’s Health and Wellness initiatives.

The participants were urged to be a part of Manipal Sakhi Connect (through Manipal Community Connect), a unique online portal by Manipal Hospitals that strongly believes in a woman’s ability to achieve greatness.

It promotes opportunities for women of all ages and walks of life to express themselves freely, display their talents, celebrate victories and inspire each other.

Additionally, this platform paves the opportunity for important conversations concerning health matters by encouraging women to prioritise their wellness and advocate health awareness among their communities.

Pramod Kunder, Hospital Director, said, “Manipal Sakhi Connect aims at creating a supportive ecosystem where women uplift and empower each other, laying a foundation for a brighter and healthier future for all.”

On the occasion, 24 exemplary women across various fields, including dietitians and nutritionists, educationists, athletes, entrepreneurs, inspiring cancer survivors, authors, life coaches, musicians, dancers and lawyers were felicitated.
