Hunsur: Two bike- borne masked miscreants, who waylaid a youth, allegedly attacked him with a  knife and robbing him of Rs. 20,000 cash, before fleeing away.

The incident took place in a broad daylight near Modur Gate in the taluk on Wednesday afternoon.

The youth, who was stabbed is identified as Sachin, son of Kalegowda, a resident of Harave Kallahalli in the taluk. He has been admitted to Hunsur General Hospital for treatment.

Sachin, who had come to Hunsur on some work, alighted a bus  at Modur Gate on his return journey and was walking towards his village, when two strangers who came on a Splendour motorbike with their faces covered with a black cloth, waylaid Sachin and tried to stab him with a knife.

Sachin, in a bid to escape from stabbing, blocked the knife with his left hand only to suffer injuries. As he fell down, the miscreants snatched the cash he was carrying and sped away on the bike.

Meanwhile, Sachin with the help of passersby got himself admitted to Hunsur General Hospital.  

Hunsur Rural Police Sub-Inspector Radhamma has registered a case and is investigating.
