Mysore/Mysuru: A Mass Yajur Upakarma was organised by Mysuru District and City Brahmins Association and Mysuru Brahmana Yuva Vedike at Jayanagar Ramamandira in city recently.

Trimathastha Brahmins  changed their Yagnopavita (Sacred Thread) and performed Gayathri Japa and Homa under the supervision of Vedabrahma Arun Kumar Sharma.

District Brahmins Association President D.T. Prakash, who distributed Holy Thread and books of Gayathri Mantra to participants, said that Gayathri Mantra was very powerful and effective. “It purifies soul and mind.  It also gives another message to pray for the welfare of everyone. If we enjoy the rising of Sun God daily, the moment will be sacred and auspicious,” said Prakash.

Noted singer Sri Harsha, Brahmana Yuva Vedike General Secretary Vikram Iyengar, Organising Secretary Ajay Shastri, Punit G.  Kudlur, Venkatesh, Seetharamu and others participated in the Mass Yajur Upakarma ceremony.
