Mysuru: Following reports published in yesterday’s Mysooru Mithra and SOM, Mayor M.J. Ravikumar, accompanied by officials, yesterday inspected the JNNURM Housing complex at Aleemnagar, Bannimantap in city which is facing the threat of collapse.

Later speaking, Ravikumar said that one portion of a compound had collapsed due to heavy rains that lashed the city on Tuesday night.

However, there is no threat to the multi-storeyed housing complex. As such, the occupants need not feel scared. The compound wall will be demolished and a new one will be constructed, he said and added that the works will be taken up soon.

Former Mayor Ayub Khan, Karnataka Slum Clearance Board Executive Engineer Kapanigowda and others were present.
