MCC cleans filth from Chamundi Hill steps

October 11, 2022

Following intense public criticism over the issue of Chamundi Hill steps and walkway turning into a garbage dump by careless and irresponsible devotees who came there for Maha Rathotsava on Sunday, the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) cleaned the steps last evening. Tonnes of garbage, mainly prasadam packs, food packets, plates and cups were cleared from the area by teams of Pourakarmikas who swept the 1,000 steps in batches. Star of Mysore had carried a report yesterday regarding the filth and muck spread by the devotees after consuming prasadam during the Rathotsava. [Tonight, Theppotsava will be held atop the Hill at Devikere].
