MDA Task Force plans one eviction drive every week

October 30, 2026

Mysuru: A special Task Force headed by retired Dy.SP Abdul Karim Rawther has been constituted to identify and clear encroachments on Mysuru Development Authority (MDA) properties.

Working with the MDA engineering section, the Task Force is compiling details of properties involved in legal disputes.

MDA officials told Star of Mysore that demolition and clearance drives would be conducted once a week, covering one of the Authority’s eight zones each time.

The Task Force will continue to reclaim properties and remove encroachments in cases where Courts have ruled in favour of the MDA.

Officials clarified that the drive has nothing to do with the recent controversy over cancellation of sites allotted under the 50:50 ratio scheme. The exercise is aimed solely at protecting MDA properties and reclaiming land in cases where legal disputes have been settled in the Authority’s favour.
