Rs. 16.78 lakh tender awarded; process to recruit staff begins
Mysuru: The Mysuru Development Authority (MDA) has begun the process of setting up a Task Force headed by a retired Dy.SP to protect its properties from encroachment and attempts to usurp them using fake documents.
The MDA has outsourced the task of forming the Task Force to an agency headed by T.N. Chethan Kumar of T. Narasipur in Mysuru district. As per the contract agreement (MUDA-2025-26/SE 005), the agency has to provide the required staff for the Task Force for 12 months from Oct. 1, 2026.
The tender has been awarded for Rs. 16.78 lakh (Rs. 16,78,466), with an additional 18 percent towards Goods and Services Tax (GST). The agency has been directed to begin the process of appointing staff immediately.
The Task Force will identify encroachments on MDA properties, prevent attempts to encroach upon them and provide support during encroachment clearance drives.
As per the contract for providing the Task Force for 12 months, the agency has to appoint one Security Officer, three Assistant Security Officers and other supporting staff.
It must also provide one non-AC vehicle (4+1 seater) fitted with a ladder measuring a minimum of 20 ft. in length. The contractor has to comply with all Labour Department norms specified in the tender.
The contractor will have to operate only under its own name and cannot sub-contract the work. The MDA also reserves the right to cancel the contract at any time without assigning any reason.
MDA Commissioner B.R. Mahesh said the Authority had taken the initiative to form the Task Force on the lines of the Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF).
“The Task Force will be headed by a retired Dy.SP and will function in coordination with the Police during evacuation and encroachment clearance drives. It will also provide security cover to MDA staff involved in clearance drives and other similar operations,” he said.
