Prasiddhi Bhat with 6.5 points from seven rounds won the title in the Mysore District Chess Association (MDCA) Open U-19 Chess Tournament held at the University Lions Hall here yesterday.
Three players, R. Ashutosh Srinivas (6 points – 24 PG score), S. Abhinayak (6 points – 23.5 PG score) and M.U. Thejas (6 points – 22.5 PG score) tied with 6 points each, but based on their tie-break progressive score took the places from second to fourth respectively. M.G. Prameeth (5.5 points) secured the fifth place.
The prizes to the winners were given away by MDCA office-bearers Arunachalam, Krishnamurthy and Shivarame Gowda.
