The Karnataka Junior Athletic Championship organised by Karnataka Athletic Federation was held at Moodabidri from Jan. 18 to 20.

This Championship was also the selection trials to the Junior Nationals to be held at Guwahati from Feb. 6 to 8.

KALian (Karaumbiah’s Academy for Learning and Sports) student Simsa Ganapathy won a silver medal in her debut 400 mts Hurdles in U-16 category and Jyothika, student at Cauvery College, representing Ashwini Sports Foundation (ASF), won gold in the 400 mts and silver in the 400 mts Hurdles in U-20 category.

Jyothika has been selected to represent Karnataka State at the Junior Nationals.
