Mysuru: In the era of rapid advances in Medicine, keeping track of changing guidelines and newer protocols is only possible by active participation in such update programme with significant biomedical advances, said Executive Secretary of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Dr. C.G. Betsurmath. He was speaking after inaugurating the Annual Medicine Update conducted by Mysore Physicians Medical & Research Trust (MPMRT) recently at Sri Rajendra Centenary Auditorium, JSS Hospital.
Appreciating the good work done by the Trust, he said the organisers of this Medicine update have chosen topics to enrich the clinical problem-solving approach with live case examples. The programme will definitely help the participants in a great manner, he added.
Background
The Trust was created out of savings from State Physicians’ Conference, held in 2003 at Mysuru. This organisation has been conducting annual academic for the benefit of PG students in Medicine and young physicians for enhancing their clinical skills and knowledge.
The programme contains seven orations and several clinical problem-solving sessions. Senior faculty from various institutions will be participating to impart the knowledge of internal Medicine. The Trust has been conducting these programmes for last 13 years. The Trust also conducts midterm Cardio-Nephrology updates every year. The quiz programme in General Medicine is also conducted every year for interns from various colleges of the State with prize money of 15 thousand rupees.
