Members object to Kunchitigara Sangha election

Mysuru: Strongly opposing the move to hold Kunchitigara Sangha elections on July 9 despite a probe going on against alleged irregularities by some of the Sangha office-bearers, a few members of the Sangha staged a demonstration in front of the Sangha office at Alamma Choultry on Vinoba Road in Shivarampet here  on Thursday.

Maintaining that the State Government had appointed an Administrative Office for the Sangha on Jan. 14, 2015 while also directing to hold elections only after completion of probe into the irregularities, the protesting members alleged that the elections to the Sangha has been announced even as the probe is going on.

Terming the July 9 election as illegal, the members claimed that most of the members were not intimated about the elections much earlier and also some of the members who wished to file their nominations were turned away.

They demanded cancellation of the July 9 election and hold a fresh election after the completion of probe.

Sangha Members K.H. Ananth Kumar, Pradeep Kumar and others led the protest.
