Mysuru: Tourism Minister S.R. Mahesh has assured to look into the problems of small-scale electrical contractors.
He was speaking after receiving a memorandum from the contractors at the District-level convention of them organised by Karnataka State Licensed Electrical Contractors Association at MMC&RI Platinum Jubilee Hall here yesterday.
The contractors alleged that the government was opting for turnkey project depriving small-scale contractors to take up piece works.
Mahesh said that he would organise an interaction for the contractors with the Chief Minister where the issues of the contractors could be discussed.
Speaking as the Chief Guest at the convention, Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Managing Director Dr. H.N. Gopalakrishna commended the work of over 3,500 members of the Association and lauded their works in flood relief works in Kodagu.
Referring to the charter of demands of the contractors he assured to do the needful with in the administrative framework.
Pratibha Puraskar was presented to over 150 children of contractors who had excelled in SSLC and second PU examinations.
Newly elected office-bearers of the Association, District Committees of Mysuru, Shivamogga and Bagalkot were felicitated.
KEI Industries, Bengaluru Chief Manager J.K. Anil Kumar, Mysuru District President M.R. Dharmaveer, Advisor C. Ramesh and others were present.
