Bengaluru: Even as the Opposition BJP-JD(S) combine aims to turn on the tables targeting  the State Government over the continuance of Minister for Planning and Statistics B. Nagendra, by taking out a Ballari Chalo seeking resignation of the Minister, who is an accused in Valmiki Development Corporation money-laundering case, Minister B. Nagendra is likely to quit the D.K. Shivakumar cabinet shortly.

Nagendra, who represents Ballari (Rural) Assembly segment, met Chief Minister Shivakumar in the State Capital this morning and is said to have been closeted with him for over 15 minutes, during which the Minister offered to tender his resignation.

The meeting comes ahead of CM’s likely visit to New Delhi tomorrow (Aug.27), during which he will meet the Congress top brass for effecting a minor reshuffle in  his Cabinet, by dropping a couple of Ministers and inducting new faces or senior leaders.

As the Opposition aims to corner the Government over the issue of Nagendra’s induction, the Congress High Command, in order to thwart the BJP taking advantage of the situation, too is intent on dropping the Minister.
