Minister launches competitive exam coaching camp

Mysuru:  “The society can be served for a longer period by being employed in government service” opined Minister for Tourism S.R. Mahesh.

He was speaking after launching the coaching camp for competitive examinations being organised by Navo-Pramati School of Civil Services, a joint venture of Navodaya Foundation and Pramati Hill View Academy, at the latter’s premises in Kuvempunagar here recently.

Mahesh opined that students should face competitive examinations with confidence and determination and advised them not to get deterred by initial failures. He asked the IAS and IPS aspirants not to forget the ordeals they underwent to accomplish the mission, while serving the society on becoming a government officer. He added that politicians can serve the society for only five years as against 30 plus years by a government employee.

Addressing the gathering Bengaluru West DCP Ravi D. Channanavar said that education should fulfil the needs of a person and that of the society. He asked the students to have specific goals before taking up a course. He added that enthusiasm and interest should be good and constant throughout the educational career. He opined that several learning skills should be adopted to master any field. He said that learning is eternal with no time limit and advised students to be aware of their strengths and weaknesses to achieve the set goal.

Government of India retired Additional Secretary C.V. Gopinath, Lokayukta SP Sujitha Mohammed, Pramati Hill View Academy Secretary H.V. Rajeev, Navodaya Foundations Secretary Dr.S.R. Ravi, Academy Principal C.S. Sudarshan, School of Civil Services Convenor B.S. Ravishankar and others were present.
