Minor girl found begging rescued by Child Helpline volunteers

Mysuru: A 12-year-old girl, who was found begging at Bannur Bus Stand, has been rescued by the volunteers of Child Helpline of Mysuru.

The volunteers, based on the information provided by the public, rushed to the spot along with the local Police and found the girl begging in the bus stand, said Child Helpline Centre Convenor Anil Kumar to SOM, who added that after talking to the girl for sometime, the girl told them that she was from Bevinahalli in Mandya district and has lost her mother. She has further revealed that she has been begging since two months after leaving her house.

Anil Kumar said that as the girl may face problems in future, she has been rescued and shifted to the Government Girls Balamandira in Siddarthanagar and added that they would inform the girl’s family members before  producing her before the Children Welfare Committee in Gayathripuram here today.
