Missing woman and child traced in Raichur

Mysuru: A woman who went missing along with her two-year-old child on Saturday, after making a video call to her mother, has been traced in Raichur.

The woman, identified as Nikhita, wife of Manjunath and a resident of Hootagalli in city, had left her house along with her kid on Saturday after making a video call to her mother Pankaja following which Pankaja had lodged a complaint at Vijayanagar Police Station. The Police, who had registered a case in this regard, took up the investigation and based on the information provided by the family members, the Police traced her in Raichur on Monday.

It is learnt that, Nikhita, who was depressed following alleged harassment from her husband, had left her house and went to Raichur, where she was about to join an ashram with the help of known persons.

Sources said that the Police have left for Raichur along with Nikhita’s family members and are expected to bring her and the kid back to Mysuru tonight.
