Misappropriation of Rs. 4.7 crore: Court grants bail to Trustee of pvt. educational institution

Mysore/Mysuru: S. Gururaj, the Trustee of Chaitra Educational Trust, Srirampura 2nd Stage in city, who had been arrested by Kuvempunagar Police recently, on the charges of misappropriation of Rs. 4.7 crore, belonging to the Trust, has been granted a conditional bail by the Court on May 6.

C.N. Chandan, the Fourth Additional Senior Civil Judge and JMFC Court, granted bail to Gururaj, with a self bond for Rs. 1 lakh and two sureties equivalent to the bond. The conditions include – no attempt to destroy evidence by issuing threat and refrain from being a part of any criminal activities. Most importantly, no foreign tours can be undertaken, without the Court’s permission. Any change in residential address should be brought to the notice of Investigation Officer (IO) and should personally appear before the IO once in every 15 days, until the final report in the case is submitted to the Court.

It may be mentioned that, Gururaj was arrested following a Police complaint lodged by Anjaneyulu Nidjelli, Chief Risk Officer of NSPIRA Management Services Pvt. Ltd, Hyderabad, Telangana, on Apr. 30.

Nidjelli had accused Gururaj & two others — Trustee B.V. Pushpalatha and Principal B.U. Dechamma — of working in conduit and transferring Rs. 4.7 crore from the Collection Account, in violation of the agreement signed between the Trust and NSPIRA, dated June 15, 2022.
