Miscreants assault driver, flee with autorickshaw, cell phone

Nanjangud: Miscreants, who assaulted a driver, have fled with his autorickshaw and mobile phone near the bund of a canal at Nagarle village on Feb. 16. The auto driver, who lost his vehicle and mobile phone, is 22-year-old Sridhar, a resident of T. Narasipur town.

On Feb. 16 at about 9.45 pm, Sridhar was waiting for passengers near the private bus stand in the town, when two persons hired his auto (KA-01-C-3756) to Biligere for a rent of Rs. 350. After reaching Biligere, the two persons made Sridhar to move around the village and later took the auto to canal bund near Nagarle village where they assaulted Sridhar and fled with his auto and mobile phone.

A case has been registered at Biligere Police Station.
