Miscreants break car glass; decamp with Rs. 1 lakh cash

Periyapatna: Miscreants, who broke the glass pane of a parked car, have decamped with Rs. 1 lakh cash kept in the dashboard of the car yesterday in the town.

Annappa, Proprietor of Venkateshwara Granites and Tiles in the town is the one who lost his money. Annappa, who withdrew Rs. 1 lakh cash from Syndicate Bank yesterday afternoon, kept the cash in the dashboard of his Maruti Swift Dzire car (KA-12-Z-3191), parked the car in front of a garments shop at Basaveshwara Circle and went to a hotel for lunch. When he returned, he found the glass pane of the car broken and cash missing from the dashboard.

Inspector B.R. Pradeep, Sub-Inspector Ganesh and staff, who rushed to the spot, conducted preliminary investigation and registered a case. A witness to the crime has informed Police that three miscreants, who came on a blue colour Bajaj Pulsar bike, tried to open the door of the car and when they failed to open, they smashed the glass pane of the car with a stone and took way the cash from the dashboard.
