Miscreants snatch gold chain from elderly woman in city

March 3, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: Bike-borne miscreants have snatched a gold chain from an elderly woman at Ramabai Nagar in the outskirts of city yesterday morning. The woman, who lost her gold chain, is 58-year-old Mamata, wife of retired Tahsildar Prasanna Kumar.

Mamata was on her way to pluck leaves at the vacant site near her house at about 6.45 am yesterday, when she noticed two youths on a bike.

Assuming that they were milk vendors, Mamata began to walk towards the vacant site. While she was plucking the leaves, the youths snatched about 45 gram of the 60 gram gold chain and sped away.

Mysuru South Rural Police, who reached the spot on receiving information, conducted mahazar and registered a case. Cops have collected footages of CCTV cameras installed in the surroundings and have launched a hunt to nab the miscreants.
