Miscreants steal Rs. 1 lakh cash kept in truck

Mysore/Mysuru: Miscreants have made away with Rs. 1 lakh cash which was kept in the dashboard of the truck. The theft took place in the early hours of Aug. 3 on the road between the Truck Terminal on Nanjangud Road and Mall of Mysore.

On Aug. 2, Tipu Hussain of Suratkal in Dakshina Kannada, who works as a truck driver at Denlock Plastic Factory had taken plastic items, unloaded the same near the room of one Sunil at Srirangapatna and had collected Rs. 1 lakh cash from him. Hussain, who kept the cash in the dashboard of the truck, proceeded towards Mangaluru.

Observing that there was little diesel and no fuel stations would be open in the wee hours, Hussain, proceeded towards Mall of Mysore from the truck terminal on Nanjangud Road, stopped in between to attend nature’s call and when he returned to the truck, he found the cash kept in the dashboard missing.

A case has been registered at Nazarbad Police Station.
