Missing city student’s body found in river

Mysuru:  The body of the 19-year-old girl, who left her Paying Guest (PG) accommodation on Gokulam Road here on Aug.29 at about 10.30 am, saying that she was going to the College and had gone missing, was found floating in Lakshmanatheertha River at Nittur in Kodagu last evening.

The girl is identified as Neha Gangamma, daughter of Prabha and Shyla couple of Nittur, who was pursuing her first year BBA course at St. Joseph’s College at Jayalakshmipuram in city and was staying at a PG accommodation on Gokulam Road here.

Ponnampet Police, who fished out the body, shifted it to Gonikoppal Community Health Centre mortuary. Villagers, who had found the body of Gangamma floating in the river had informed the Police.

It may be recalled that Gangamma’s PG accommodation owner had informed her parents about her not returning from College and the PG owner had lodged a missing complaint at Jayalakshmipuram Police Station.
