Missing farmer found dead

August 8, 2018

Mysuru: A highly-decomposed body of a farmer, who had gone missing about 10 days ago, was found in his field on Monday. A missing complaint was lodged at Jayapura Police Station in this regard.

The deceased farmer is Puttasiddaiah (55), a resident of Gujjegowdanapura in Jayapura hobli.

As there was thick growth of weeds, bushes and shrubs at Puttasiddaiah’s field, no one used to venture near the field and as foul smell was emanating from the field, some villagers went to the field only to find the decomposed body of Puttasiddaiah and immediately informed the Police.

It is learnt that, Puttasiddaiah had taken loans and unable to repay the same, he is said to have consumed poison in his field and had ended his life.

Jayapura Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, shifted the body to a hospital besides registering a case.

The body was handed over to the family members after the post-mortem was conducted.
