Mysuru: Seeking redressal of their grievances including payment of pending wages, the staff of the city’s CSI Holdsworth Memorial Hospital (Mission Hospital) registered their protest by taking out a march in the city yesterday.

The staff who gathered in front of the Old Milk Dairy on Bannur Road, marched to the new DC office on Bannur Road in Siddarthanagar, where they staged a demonstration seeking immediate solution to their problems.

“There are more than 300 staff in the over Century old  Mission Hospital in Mysuru  and the workers have been getting their problems solved amicably under the leadership of AITUC for the past 46 years. But the Hospital Administrative Officer Vincent Paul, who was appointed 7 years ago, has driven the Hospital to a crisis which was never seen before.

The Hospital is on the downslide under the leadership of Paul. The staff have not been paid wages for months  and are also deprived of statutory benefits and facilities”, they alleged.

Maintaining that they are not paid wages since April, the protesters said that they launched the stir from July 15 after giving notice to the Hospital management as per Law. But the Hospital administration, instead of holding talks with the striking staff for resolving the issue, has been misleading the public by making false allegations against the workers, the protesters said.

The Hospital Management has not attended any of the meetings called by the Assistant Labour Commissioner for resolving the problems. As such, the DC should intervene and render justice to them, the protesters urged.

They also demanded the immediate release of pending wages and announcement of the wage revision within a stipulated time.

The Union Office-bearers Dayaprakash, C. Shankar, Wilson Prabhakar, Paul David, R. Siddaraju, R. Joseph Manuel and others were present.
