MLA pays surprise visit to Periyapatna Hospital

June 26, 2018

Periyapatna: Unhygienic toilets and late comers greeted MLA K. Mahadev during his surprise visit to Periyapatna General Hospital this morning.

During his visit, the MLA found that many doctors were coming late to work and asked the hospital’s Administrative Officer to issue notice to late comers and asked him to take legal action if they still continue to come late.

Speaking to the doctors, MLA Mahadev asked them not to differentiate between patients and provide treatment to all patients equally. He further asked them not to send away any patient citing lack of facilities at the hospital and told them that he would try to get all facilities pertaining to the treatment to the hospital.

When Mahadev visited the toilets at the hospital, he was greeted with foul smell emanating from the toilet blocks which forced him to cover his nose. When he went inside, he found the toilets in an unhygienic condition and took the hospital staff to task besides asking them to get the toilets cleaned immediately. He told them that he would be paying surprise visits to the hospital frequently as he was living nearby.

Speaking about the problems faced by Group D contract employees at the hospital, MLA Mahadev said that he came to know that these employees were not being paid full by the Contractor and said that he (Mahadev) would get his (Contractor) license cancelled if he does not pay the full amount to the  D Group employees.

MyMUL Director P.M. Prasanna, former Director Nagegowda, Kumar, Dr. Sadashiva, Dr. Devaki, Dr. Prakash Nayak, Dr. Anil Kumar and others were present.
