Mysore/Mysuru: In yet another step towards reaching out Government programmes for targeted beneficiaries, K.R. MLA S.A. Ramdas launched registration of street vendors of the Constituency for helping them avail benefits that are due to them under Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana (DAY), Deen Dayal Upadhyaya National Urban Livelihood Mission (DAY-NULM) and other schemes, at Seth Mohandas Tulsidas Hospital premises on JLB Road here recently.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramdas said that the registration covers street vendors of MCC Ward Nos. 49,50,51,52,54,55 and 61, coming under K.R. Assembly segment. Pointing out that the Government schemes help street vendors avoid taking hand loans from money-lenders at exorbitant rate of Interest, he said that identification of push-cart, street vendors and other small vendors will be complete in a few more days, following which they will be issued ID cards. Pointing out that eligible street vendors will also be issued e-Shram Cards too, the MLA said that the beneficiaries will be explained on how to get all benefits and facilities which they are entitled to.
Advising the street vendors and other small vendors to avoid knocking on the doors of money-lenders, the MLA said that e-Shram card holders will get interest-free loans ranging from Rs.10,000 to Rs. 80,000. The distribution of e-Shram card will be completed by the end of February, he added.
MCC Additional DC Roopa, MCC Zonal Officer (Zone-1) Manjunath Reddy and other officials were present.
