Yakshaganas to mark 12th anniversary of Karavali Yakshagana Kendra

Mysore/Mysuru: As part of its 12th anniversary celebrations, Karavali Yakshagana Kendra, Mysuru, has organised following Yakshagana performances at Uttara Kannada Jilla Samskrutika Sangha premises in Kuvempunagar on Feb. 5.

3 pm: Yakshagana ‘Gurudakshine: Panchajanya’ by Tenkutittu students. Prasanga – Pattaje Ganesh Bhat; Himmela – Lakshminarayana Bhat, Batyamule (Bhagavataru), Avinash Chanila (Maddale) and Skanda Konnar (Chende); Mummela – Advika, Shashank, Pranamnya Rao, Kamya Vishwesh, Chinmayi G. Bhat, Harsha Poojari, V.S. Ananya, Mahadevaswamy, Dhriti Rajashekar, V.S. Aditya, Srivatsa Bhat – (Haluvalli), Raghavendra Bhat and Ganesh Poojari; Direction – Abhishek Chanila, Centre’s Tenkutittu style teacher; Costumes – Karavali Yakshagana Kendra, Mysuru; Prasadana – K.V. Mayya Balaga, Puttur.

4.30 pm: Stage Programme. Dignitaries on dais will light the lamp. Kendra President Sridhar Aital will preside. Kannada & Culture Assistant Director Dr. M.D. Sudarshan and Dr. Narayan Hegde of Apollo Hospital, who is also the President of Uttara Kannada Jilla Samskrutika Sangha, will be the chief guests.

5.30 pm: Yakshagana ‘Daksha

Yajna’ by Badagutittu students. Prasanga – Devidasa; Himmela – Prasanna Hegde (Bhagavataru), Anantapadmanabha Pathak (Maddale) and Karthik Dhareshwara (Chende); Mummela – Darshan, Bhargavi, Mahadevaswamy, Atharva, Satvik, Rashmi, Vishruta, Khushi, Shivanka, Alaka Kattemane, Sudeep, Akshaya Hegde, Radhika Arun, Ganesh Poojari, Atish Alva and Mahati; Direction – Manoj Bhat, Centre’s Badagutittu style teacher; Costumes & Prasadana – Sri Brahmasri            Kalavedike, Bengaluru.
