Mysore/Mysuru: Days after Chief Minister Siddharamaiah had directed the Health Department officials to address issues concerning the District Hospital, Chamaraja MLA K. Harishgowda paid a surprise visit to the District Hospital on KRS road, Metagalli and carried out an inspection of the medical facilities available there.
The MLA went through the Out-patients and In-patients register. Later, he went around the wards, laboratory, toilets and other facilities and interacted with the patients.
Thereafter, the MLA directed District Surgeon Dr. T. Amarnath to fix the shortcomings that he discovered in the Hospital and to provide better medical care to all patients.
It may be mentioned here that Harishgowda had raised the District Hospital issue during the KDP meeting held in the city late last month (Aug.28) that was chaired by CM Siddharamaiah. During the meeting, the MLA had said he had received many complaints about non- availability of doctors and shortage of drugs to be given for free to the patients.
