Mysore/Mysuru: With reports of classes not going on regularly due to lack of lecturers in degree colleges, MLC K. Vivekananda has urged the Government to immediately appoint Guest Lecturers in Govt. First Grade Colleges.
In a letter written to Higher Education Minister Dr. M.C. Sudhakar, the Principal Secretary of Higher Education Department and Commissioner for Collegiate Education, K. Vivekananda highlighted that due to the delay in the appointment of Guest Lecturers, classes were not going on as per the time-table in Degree Colleges and as a consequence, the students are facing a situation where they have to write Semester Exams without receiving lessons.
Asking the Government not to play with the future of students, he urged the Higher Education Department to start counselling for appointment of Guest Lecturers.
He further wanted the Government not to discriminate between UGC qualified and non-UGC qualified candidates in appointment of Guest Lecturers and to give first priority for those lecturers who have done years of service in appointments.
The MLC, in his letter, also urged the Dept. to find a solution to the dispute pending in the Court regarding Guest Lecturer issues.
