Mysore/Mysuru: Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC and RI) is celebrating its centenary this year. On this occasion, a Global Alumni Meet is organised by MMC&RI, Mysore Medical College (MMC) Alumni Association and MAA Trust, on Jan. 20 and 21, at Platinum Jubilee auditorium, JK Grounds in the city.

It also includes a Centenary Oration Award ceremony, in which Prof. (Dr.) Matcheri Keshavan, MD, proud alumnus of MMC & Professor and Academic Head of Psychiatry, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centre and Massachusetts Mental Health Centre, Harvard Medical School, will be delivering the centenary oration.

This will be followed by IMPRESSIONS, an event in which all senior and decorated alumni will be recalling their experience, love, gratitude and nostalgic memories on MMC campus.

The event will be a formal inauguration of Centenary Celebrations and will be attended by the alumni of MMC and RI who are settled across the country and abroad. There will be a feast of scientific sessions in which presentations will be delivered by distinguished alumni, who have excelled in their field of specialisation.

The meet will begin with a floral tribute and thanksgiving for founders of MMC and conclude on Jan. 21 with all alumni sharing  their futuristic plans in holistic development of MMC and RI.

The programme will be inaugurated by District Minister Dr. H.C.  Mahadevappa on Jan. 20 at 5 pm. Dr. K.R. Dakshayini, Director and Dean of MMC&RI, will preside. The guests of honor include Dr. M.K. Ramesh, Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and Dr. M.A. Shekar, VC of Adichunchanagiri University, Nagamangala, Mandya. 

Organising Committee Members Dr. H.N. Dinesh, Executive President, MAA, Dr. C.D. Sreenivasa Murthy, Hon. President, Dr. H.B. Shashidhar, Secretary, MAA, Dr. Sarvesha Raje Urs, Treasurer and Executive Committee member of MAA,                 will be present.
