MMC&RI senior Alumni feted at MAA Utsav-2023

Mysore/Mysuru: Senior alumni of Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI) were felicitated by Mysore Medical College Alumni Association (MAA) at ‘MAA Utsav’ held at MMC&RI Platinum Jubilee Hall in J.K. Grounds here on May 27.

Senior alumni of MAA — Dr. Brunda Devi, Dr. Chandrashekar, Dr. Hanumakka, Dr. Indira Rao, Dr. Kamalamma, Dr. Kanakalatha Sundaresh, Dr. Lingamma, Dr. K.N. Mohan, Dr. M.S. Prasannakumar, Dr. H.S. Rudresh, Dr. Sachidananda, Dr. C.K. Shastri, Dr. S.P. Srinivas, Dr. Shivamadu, Dr. Sundareshan and Dr. Uday Kumar — were felicitated on the occasion.

Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, former Vice-Chancellor (VC) of University of Mysore (UoM) and Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) Prof. K.S. Rangappa said that initially Mysore Medical College came under UoM.

Pointing out that Mysuru, apart from being called as the Cultural Capital of the State, is also known for many prestigious educational institutions, he said that Mysuru has contributed a lot to the country in respect  of both conventional and higher education.

Recalling the contributions of erstwhile Mysuru ruler Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar for brining Mysuru in the global map, Prof. Rangappa said that the MMC&RI is one of the oldest and prestigious Medical Colleges of the country, which has turned out many professionals who have earned name and fame worldwide. He also highlighted the service rendered by the Medical fraternity during the COVID pandemic.

MAA Hon. President Dr. B.D. Ganapathy, President Dr. S. Chandrashekar, Secretary Dr. H.B. Shashidhar, Treasurer Dr. A.S. Sarveshraje Urs, MAA Trust President Dr. S.
