Mysuru: “Folk games which were popular among children decades ago are now replaced by mobile video games,” observed H. Channappa, Assistant Director, Department of Kannada and Culture.
He was speaking after launching a training camp on ‘Theatre and Folk Arts’ at Maneyangala in Kalamandira premises here recently.
Channappa recalled that kids of yesteryears loved to play Gilli Dhandu, Marbles, Kunte Bille and Mara-kothi which are now taken away by mobile video games.
He opined that the workshop on theatre and folk art would help college students to hone their personality and acquire knowledge too.
Gowthama Educational and Cultural Seva Trust President Krishnamurthy Talakad and faculty of various colleges were present.
