Mysuru: Deputy Director of Karnataka Police Academy (KPA), Mysuru, S.L. Chennabasavanna has said, mock tests are helpful in checking exam fear among the candidates preparing for competitive exams. He was speaking after inaugurating special mock test conducted for candidates preparing for competitive examinations, by the Department of Public Library at the premises of City Central Library, People’s Park, Nazarbad in city recently.

Describing the mock test organised by Library Department as special, Chennabasavanna said, it will serve as a beacon of light for the poor and rural candidates of this part of the district.

Recalling his early days, Chennabasavanna said, while we were preparing for competitive exams, neither of the institutions were conducting mock tests. However, we friends were preparing on our own in our rooms. Hence, the present students should make use of such facilities, he advised. “Those willing to join the Police service, should not just be desirous to get a job, but should uphold the dignity and pride associated with it. The motto ‘Protect the good and punish the evil,’ should not just remain on papers, but should be the mantra of duty,” he said.

City Central Library Deputy Director B. Manjunath said, initiative of mock test has attracted State-wide attention. Department of Backward Classes and Social Welfare Department have requested for question paper and study materials to conduct mock test for the inmates of their residential hostels. Considering their request, Department of Public Libraries and Jnanagangothri Coaching Centre in Bengaluru have offered to provide possible assistance, he added.
