Month-long Medical Expo at MMC&RI from tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: As part of the centenary year celebrations of Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI), a month-long Medical Exhibition is being organised at the Library Hall building in the ground floor of MMC & RI on Irwin Road in the city.

Medical Education Minister Dr. Sharanaprakash R. Patil will inaugurate the exhibition tomorrow (Oct. 27) at 2 pm. The exhibition will be open from 10 am to 5 pm and entry is free for all including the general public.

The staff of all the 21 Departments were making hurried preparations to arrange the exhibits this morning. The Departments include Anatomy, Surgery, Medicine, ENT, Orthopaedic, Opthalmology, Nephrology, Urology to name a few, the exhibits of which will be arranged to create awareness about various branches of medicine and the importance of maintaining a good health.

Besides the main entrance from Irwin road and Dewan Seshadri Iyer road, the entry is also provided to MMC&RI through two other gates near the branch of SBI and opposite Cheluvamba Hospital.

Minister in city

Minister Patil, who arrived in the city by road from Bengaluru this morning, visited Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research on KRS road. He is later scheduled to hold a progress review meeting at MMC&RI, with its Dean and Director Dr. K.R. Dakshayani, Medical Superintendents of K.R. Hospital, Cheluvamba Hospital and PKTB Sanatorium expected to attend, followed by the progress review meeting of Department of Skill Development, Mysuru district.

The Minister, who will be staying overnight in the city, will visit Chamundeshwari temple at Chamundi Hill tomorrow (Oct. 27) at 8 am. He will be later participating in a ceremony organised at Sri Rajendra Auditorium, JSS Medical College, Mysuru by JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, Bannimantap at 11 am, followed by a visit to the Regional Centre of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) at 3 pm.

The Minister is scheduled to leave by road to Bengaluru at 4.30 pm, according to the Tour Programme released by his Special Officer Gudur Bheemasena.
